Workflow

Overview

Utilize the Workflow feature within the QueryPie system to seamlessly handle approval requests that require authorization, such as data access and operations, in a unified environment. Through this feature, users can submit requests for DB/server connection authorization, SQL execution, data export operations, and more via the web-based Workflow process. Administrators have the option to define rules for selecting approvers and executors, ensuring adherence to predetermined criteria through the Approval Rule settings.

Request Types

There are four request types within the Workflow feature: DB Access Request, SQL Request, Data Export Request, and Server Access Request.

  • DB Access Request : Users can request access to DB connections, which will be granted upon approval.

  • SQL Request : Users can request authorization to run SQL queries that require approval. Once approved, they can execute the query.

  • Export Request : Users can request data export operations that require approval. Once approved, they can download the data once.

  • Server Access Request : Users can request access to server connections, which will be granted upon approval.

Workflow Roles

  • Requester : Any user within the system who initiates and submits requests.

  • Approver : Individuals designated to review and approve requests.

  • Executor : Users authorized to execute SQL requests or data export operations that have been approved.

  • Reviewer : Individuals tasked with reviewing requests or being copied on request communications.

Approvers and executors for requests can be predefined by administrators through Approval Rules.
